Emailing Alerts from ACID

I have successfully setup Snort, ACID, and MySQL on NT 4. All is well I can
see alerts and group them. However, when I select Email as an option, it
says it successfully exported one record, but it never arrives at the
address I sent it to. I do not have an SMTP server on this box currently (I
didn't install it with the option pack). Should I install one? Where are
these records "Exported" to? Thanks. I searced on google but didn't find
much in the first ten pages of result. Also what do I need to do to create
an archive table?
