make problem

Hello,
I am installing snort (latest stable version) on RH6.2 and
have just installed the latest version of libpcap from
source with no options.
I am getting the following error during make:
SplayTree.o spo_unified.o spp_stream4.o spp_frag2.o
spp_arpspoof.o  -lpcap -lm -lnsl  -lssl -lcrypto
/usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.a(dso_dlfcn.o): In function
`dlfcn_load':
dso_dlfcn.o(.text+0x99): undefined reference to `dlopen'
dso_dlfcn.o(.text+0xa8): undefined reference to `dlopen'
dso_dlfcn.o(.text+0xfd): undefined reference to `dlclose'
/usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.a(dso_dlfcn.o): In function
`dlfcn_bind_var':
dso_dlfcn.o(.text+0x1a3): undefined reference to `dlsym'
/usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.a(dso_dlfcn.o): In function
`dlfcn_bind_func':
dso_dlfcn.o(.text+0x253): undefined reference to `dlsym'
/usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.a(dso_dlfcn.o): In function
`dlfcn_unload':
dso_dlfcn.o(.text+0x332): undefined reference to `dlclose'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [snort] Error 1


Possibly unrelated:
I have seen some notes in the FAQ about "A: You must make
libpcap with the --install-incl option or install the
libpcap-devel rpm."  libpcap doesn't appear to
like --install-incl .  The next step is to look for a
libpcap-devel rpm for RH-6.2 which is also eluding me.



Can someone point me in the right direction?
