snmp traps with snort

Hi,

I am running snort to also do snmp traps, and it works. I now need to graph the frequency of some traps using mrtg. 
However when I try to run the mrtg config maker, I get an error that the there is no snmp response from my test machine 
running snort. Can someone help with some clue?.
