dial up

I tried to set up SNORT 1.8-WIN32 (Build 88) on my home PC which is using
dial-up networking to the Internet. SNORT just killed my dial up connection,
actually my modem. The problem was I can dialed out, got an ip address from
the remote dial-up server, then no packet in and out. I have to take snort
out, it works again.
Has anyone experienced this problem before?
