CONFIGURING SNORT TO USE MYSQL

I am attempting to configure snort to use mysql.  During configuration I am
receiving the following message.

     ERROR: unable to find mysql headers (mysql.h) checked in the following
places

It appears not to be checking any where.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct?
