Hi Federico!

Try this:

#ln -s /var/li/mysql/mysql.sock /tmp

I guess the problem is that it tries to find the .lock file in the usual location, however mysql leaves it in 
/var/lib/mysql (at least on my RH 7.2 box). If your linux distro is different from this one, do a search for mysql.sock 
and create a symlink to it in /tmp.

Now try getting to your ACID.
