Error initializing NIC

Hi there,

I have installed Snort 1.85 for Windows onto two machines now and I have the same issue on both. IDScenter is version 
1.09 Beta 1.3.

Both machines are running Win 2K SP2 one is a laptop (Win 2K Pro) and the other an IBM PC running (Win 2K Server).

If I test the configurations in the Snort IDScenter I get the following on both machines...

Initializing Network Interface
ERROR: OpenPcap() device  open:
        Error opening adapter
Fatal Error, Quitting..

Snort runs on the laptop but not on the PC but nothing logs to the logfile.

Can anyone shed some light on how I can fix this ???
