snort 1.8.7 on, and doing well..

Not that I expected anything else, but snort 1.8.7 build 128 compiled
first time, and is currently doing just great binary logging, logging
text alerts, logging to MySQL/ACID on another host, and logging via
syslog/LogCheck...


Compile options:

./configure  --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql


Usage context: dialup into AT&T's Seattle WA POP

Vital statistics:

uname -a
Linux greatwall.finchhaven.net 2.2.14-5.0 #1 Tue Mar 7 20:53:41 EST 2000 i586 unknown

Command line:

/usr/bin/snort187 -b -i ppp0 -o -c /usr/local/snort-1.8.7/snort187.conf &

Output from snort187 -V:

Version 1.8.7 (Build 128)
