No te puedo ayudar mucho pero aqui va una respuesta basica:
Depende lo que quieras hacer...
Tenerlo delante del firewall te daria bastantes eventos, mientras detras te daria menos...

algunos tienen varias incarnaciones de snort en sus redes.
basicamente, que es lo que quieres monitorear?

Depends on what you want to do...
Having it in front of the firewall will give you a bunch of events, while having it behind will give you less...

some people have many incarnations of snort of their networks...
basically, what do you want to monitor?
