static compilation

Hi again,

I wanna make a static compilation of snort to see if i
can use it in an embedded project. Sure i'll cut up
some commands in the code:)

how can i do that static compilation? I changed the
makefile like:
I added "CFLAGS" "-static"  and "LFLAGS" also but it
didn't work. How can i do that??
