Bill,

If you are having any crashes on your Windows 2000 or XP box, then you
have some incompatible hardware/software loaded or installed. Windows
2000 or XP is a very stable OS. There are no usual crashes with running
Snort on a windows box. I just checked a server that I have Snort 1.9
running on and it's been up for 93 days without a reboot.

Anyone else seeing intermittent crashes (besides the usual on a windows
box) with Snort 1.9?  I have the problem with both Snort and Ethereal so
I'm guessing it's an issue with XP pro and WinPcap. Any thoughts? Thanks
