Snort doesn't log anything!

Hi,

I am using Snort-1.9.0-win32.exe I opened up the
manual, and just started typing in commands from the
examples there. However, Snort has yet to write a
single thing to any log file! Ater running snort, I
logged into my computer using telnet, and download a
file using ftp. Something should have appeared in a
log, right? What am I doing wrong? Why won't it log
anything? Also, nothing ever changes on the console
either. Here's one of the failed commands:

C:\Snort>snort -dev -l ./log
