First off, What the hell is Linux 8.0 ? You configure and install snort _after_ you install your operating system. I personally don't know of(but im sure there is) OS'es that ship with snort. Snort version I recommend running is Snort 1.9.0 or the lastest from CVS. and read the documentation! Cheers! Alberto Gonzalez shouldn't this be penalty drinks? I took mine for my incident earlier, almost got fired... can't drink while on the job <g> -----Original Message----- From: Tom Murdock [mailto:t_murdock () hotmail com] Sent: Thursday, February 06, 2003 7:35 PM To: snort-users () lists sourceforge net Subject: [Snort-users] novice Question from Novice. Thank you I need a Linux 8.0 as a platform for SNORT. I would like to help mi out wit advice on two different issues please: 1. Should I configure Linux during the installation installation and configuration, since I want to run SNORT on it? 2. Which SNORT version would be appropriate for me to install and run smoothly. I would appreciate very much respond.
