Step 1. Have a look at the Snort User's Manual
(http://www.snort.org/docs/SnortUsersManual.pdf). A lot of hard work went
into putting this document together, and it's filled with useful information
on all sorts of topics, including answering basic questions just like the
one you are asking.

Step 2. Run the command "snort -?", which shows all the command-line
options. Pay particular note to the one which reads:
    -l <ld> Log to directory <ld>

Step 3. Build up a command at the command prompt using -l parameter, and
enclose the entire path to the logging directory within double quotes,
followed by any other snort command line options that you are wanting to
use, such as:
    snort -l "C:\Program Files\Snort\Logs" ...

Step 4. Go back to the Snort User's Manual, and read through it again.
Repeat Step 4.

Subject: [Snort-users] snort placement on Win32

I am attempting to run snort on a Windows system and would like to know how
to place snort or the logs in a directory other than "C:\snort". Is there a
way to do that?
