Change to the C:\Snort\bin directory and try to run Snort from there. It
sounds like you didn't have a path to c:\snort\bin when you attempted to run
the Snort binary.

there is 6 folders: bin, contrib, doc, etc, log and rules, and the Uninstal
file.

In the bin folder there's LibnetNt.dll, and snort.

Olaf,

We need a little more to go on than what you've given us.

Does the Snort binary (snort.exe) exist in the directory where you installed
the product?

Did you install a binary distribution or did you install the source
distribution?

Check the contents of the C:\Snort directory and give us a little more
information.

TIA,
Christopher

HI, I've just installed Snort 1.9.1 on my winxp home edition box in the
directory: C:\Snort.
When I try "snort" from the command line, instead of the list of commands, I
get:
'snort' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file.
Does that mean Snort hasn't actually installed? Have I missed something?

Any help appreciated, thx, Olaf
