MySQL/ACID TimeStamps ????

ppl,

A little help here, please. When I access the ACID/MySQL database to check on any alerts...I get some alerts reporting 
a timestamp that does not correlate with the internal clock of the box. Has anyone any idea as to why this would be so 
and if so is there any solution/documentation that would help me maintain a reasonable correlation of timestamps on the 
alerts.
