RE: Snort 1.8.5 on Win32 problem

Ok at this point I'll just forget about IdCenter. I've installed 2.0 and can
run "snort -dv" fine,
But not when I run " snort -A full -c snort.conf" . I get the following
error:

(directory doesn't exist or permissions are set incorrectly
or it is not a directory at all)

Fatal Error, Quitting.."

There is a log directory and I have full permission (admin). What could be
the problem?

search or check the net for current versions.

I installed it on my W2K machine, ran Idcenter, but it can't find the
alerts.ids. 
When I click on Start Snort, it keeps asking me to "Generate a script
first". 
What's the problem?
