Are you sure that you're in the same directory as the snort executeable is located? second is that maybe the executeable-flag is not set up on the snort-file for your user, so you have to set the file to r-xr-xr-x (better is to review who needs to read and start the file and apply the best umask for it). if you forgot where you installed snort you can try to find it with find / -name snort hope that helps, Daniיl Original Message follows: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I installed the argus quick install of snort , in the menual it is written that in order to start I need to issue the ./snort -v connamd i recieve: -bash: ./snort: No such file or directory why is that? thanks
