problem running snort for the first time

hi. newbie at snort.
Install snort 2.1.3 build 27 and winPcap 2.3 (2.3-winpcap.exe) when I run it for he first time i get this fatal error 
message:
 
C:\Snort\bin>snort -l c:snort\log -c c:\snort\etc\snort.conf -A console
Log directory = c:\snort\log
Initializing Network Interface
ERROR: OpenPcap() device  open:
        Error opening adapter: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.
Fatal Error, Quitting..
 
What does it mean ? Do I need two network adapter in order to work? 
 
Running win server 2003
