I would imagine that your snort executable, in your
path, has not been replaced by the new one. So find
all instances of snort and make sure they're all the
same, new executable.

I ran the rpm for Snort 2.3.2 from www.snort.org
website on the
fedora core 2 , But when i type in snort -V i get the
version on as
Snort 2.3.0. --<snip>
