snort compatibility

Hi,
Can I set up Snort 2.1.x and 2.3.x and output to the
same MySQL? Are database schema compatible? I already
have 2.1.x running, and I am setting up another
sensor. I just want to make sure the new IDS has no
impact to the existing database.
In addition, when I run select * from sensor table, I
will see more than 1 sid, even though I have only 1
sensor. Does anyone know why it happnes and how I can
fix it?
mysql> select * from sensor;
+-----+--------------+-----------+--------+--------+----------+----------+
| sid | hostname | interface | filter | detail |
encoding | last_cid |
+-----+--------------+-----------+--------+--------+----------+----------+
| 1 | unknown:eth1 | eth1 | NULL | 1 |
0 | 18268 |
| 2 | IDS:eth1 | eth1 | NULL | 1 |
0 | 24242 |
+-----+--------------+-----------+--------+--------+----------+----------+
Many thanks.
