Need some help with FSM Compilation Failed

Starting snort.
Running in IDS mode with inferred config file: /usr/local/etc/snort.conf
Log directory = /var/log/snort

Initializing Network Interface sis0
ERROR: OpenPcap() FSM compilation failed:
        syntax error
PCAP command: YES -i YES -c /etc/snort.conf
Fatal Error, Quitting..


What am I missing ... What's broken ... Is it fixable or should I
trash it and start over?
