RE: Snort logging to MySQL but not to syslog

Hi, thank you for your answer.

I found out what happened: snort was logging correclty all the time, the
prob was that LOG_AUTH was defined as logging to /var/log/auth.log.
I really should have seen that...
But at least i know now how syslogd works (at least a bit) ;)
I'll think about your way off logging, but for now it works - i got some
eMail after telling fwlogwatch to look at auth.log.
