RE: snort on linux

[H3XX <h3xx () mail com>]

I have this occur most often with the rpm distributions. They are coded
to look for specific libraries in specific places. I would suggest
building from source in order to control the installation.

  One thing that gets me is that both tcpdump and ethereal work, which

  saying I'm missing libpcap.so.0.6.2, but I have libpcap.so.0.8.3.
