What is next after compiling a new DAQ?

Hi there;

 From example-daq and pfring-daq, I have coded and compiled
a new DAQ module. I modified configure.ac. The make procedure
seems compiling, linking, and installing without a problem.
It is a standalone 'xxx-daq'. I am not cleared on how to get
snort (latest version) recognizing my xxx-daq module.

> snort --daq xxx

returned an unrecognized xxx.
