Hi,

Oh, I used alert just to try my setup, but unfortunately drop doesn't work either, nothing happens when I enter
"www.uid11.local" from my client..
But I found out that I missed /usr/local/lib/daq, so I recompiled DAQ and Snort, but I guess I have 2 "instances" of
Snort now..?
Maybe I should start all over and do it "right"..

I depends what you want to achieve but since it is an IPS, I guess you want to block traffic.
alert tcp any any -> any any (content:www.uid11.local" msg:"xxx"; sid: 1241231;)

You rule is set to alert, try changing it to drop and see if that changes anything.

drop tcp any any -> any any (content:www.uid11.local" msg:"xxx"; sid: 1241231;)
