Re: Unknown ClassType

I've run into this a time or two myself when I had commented out something above, where the line before what I'd commented out wasn't fully terminated (i.e. had a "\" at the end to indicate multi-line config). I'd take a look at what's directly above the line for including your classification.config (probably the IP rep preprocessor), and see if you accidentally messed something up there. Hi,
I am trying to implement Snort 2.9.3.1 on a server running CentOS 6.3
64-bit. I had previously run it successfully using the same version on a
machine with Fedora 17 32-bit. I am using a very similar configuration, but
for some reason it will not accept the rules properly. Here is the output
that I am getting:
Running in IDS mode

ERROR: /etc/snort/rules/backdoor.rules(92) Unknown ClassType: misc-activity
Fatal Error, Quitting..
The Unknown ClassType error occurs consistently. If I comment out one rule
from the snort.conf, then the error occurs with another.
I have been searching for an answer on this without success. Any help that
can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
