Hi list here again, I want to surrender , and I want to work for my
network snort, testing if I put this rule in local rules, I snort
generates events, but not the other rules
local.rules:
alert tcp any any <> any 80 (msg: "Web Testing Rule"; sid:1000001;)
alert icmp any any -> $HOME_NET any (msg:"ICMP test"; sid:10000001;)
10/01-10:50:45.275089 [**] [1:1000001:0] Web Testing Rule [**]
[Priority: 0] {TCP} 172.16.8.49:33516 -> 172.16.8.56:80
10/01-10:50:45.275091 [**] [1:1000001:0] Web Testing Rule [**]
[Priority: 0] {TCP} 172.16.8.49:33516 -> 172.16.8.56:80
10/01-10:50:45.275099 [**] [1:1000001:0] Web Testing Rule [**]
[Priority: 0] {TCP} 172.16.8.56:80 -> 172.16.8.49:33516
I can see the event to port 80, but if I ping or port scans with nmap
does not work!
