If you want greater performance than Linux's default Libpcap can provide SolarFlare offers SolarCapture Pro for their 
line of 10GbE & 40GbE server network adapters.  These adapters are priced similarly to standard Intel 10G adapters, but 
offer substantially greater performance.  There are also high performance drivers specifically built for packet
