You didn’t ask, but Snort 3 comes with hyperscan support.

Subject: [Snort-devel] Snort 2.9.9.0 with Hyperscan integration

Dear All,
I have compiled hyperscan in Ubuntu 19.04 and applied patch snort-2982-hyperscan-v3 onto snort and then followed by
autoreconf -fi and followed by Snort's compilation with --enable-intel-hyperscan and its includes and libraries. Now
when I run Snort it works fine by default config detection option but when I write config detection: search-method
hyperscan split-any-any it gives error by saying "Invalid argument to 'search-method':hyperscan".
