I downloaded the "current tar files" (daily cvs snapshot) from tcpdump.org and installed them, but it did not change anything :-(
Did you relink whatever applications are using libpcap (tcpdump, Ethereal, etc.) with the new version of libpcap? (For tcpdump, make sure the top-level tcpdump source directory and the top-level libpcap source directory are subdirectories of the same directory; for Ethereal, make sure that Ethereal picks up the newly-installed libpcap, rather than one that might already be installed on your machine - this might require you to use the "--with-pcap" configuration option to the Ethereal configure script, supplying it a directory name such as "/usr/local" if the new libpcap was installed in "/usr/local/include", "/usr/local/lib", etc.). - This is the TCPDUMP workers list.
