problem with relay server using pcap

Hello, I have a relay server which receives UDP packets (RTP actually - media for a VOIP call) on one port and relays them to their intended destination sending them from a different port. The implementation using pcap seems to be problematic for a small number of users (possibly behind a particular kind of NAT or passing thru some different kind of routers) while the same server implemented without pcap (using regular application layer sockets) works fine for these same users. I have not been able to identify what is different about these users - any ideas of where to look would be appreciated. Thanks, Brocha - This is the tcpdump-workers list.
