I have successfully compiled and installed tcpdump using libcap_1.2.2 (1.3.0 misbehaved in another application).
What sort of misbehavior did you see with 1.3.0?
My purpose is to understand interaction with the wireless device. I am curious about the folder of TESTS - how are they invoked?
By running "make check" in the top-level source directory for tcpdump. They do *not* test the capture mechanism, so they do not involve any interaction with the wireless device. They just do regression tests on the dissection of captured packets, by running tcpdump against a savefile and comparing the results with a text file giving the expected results. _______________________________________________ tcpdump-workers mailing list tcpdump-workers () lists tcpdump org https://lists.sandelman.ca/mailman/listinfo/tcpdump-workers
