So - if I were to send a patch to change IPv6 printing to be similar to IPv4 (dual-line, and overall packet length) would this be something you are interested in? Or is someone already working on it, per chance?
Hello Gert. The inconsistency regarding the number of lines is the motivation behind [1], but that inconsistency on its own did not seem a good reason to make the change. The inconsistency regarding the packet length provides an additional reason to make it uniform, and now would be a good time to make this change in the master branch only, then it would appear in tcpdump 5.0 and it would be understandable that a major release changes something in a way that is not backward-compatible. If you prepare a pull request, please include a useful entry in the change log. 1: https://github.com/the-tcpdump-group/tcpdump/issues/810 -- Denis Ovsienko _______________________________________________ tcpdump-workers mailing list -- tcpdump-workers () lists tcpdump org To unsubscribe send an email to tcpdump-workers-leave () lists tcpdump org %(web_page_url)slistinfo%(cgiext)s/%(_internal_name)s
