Hello Stefen,

Just tested your patch  with gtk+-2.20.1 on 10.6.x

It doesn't seem to fix the bug reported by Gabriele Greco. ( tested with the small example posted on 
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=502997)
Maybe this is why it has not been integrated ...
