Hi, Always check the documentation provided, and/or any license information in the binary distribution. You'll find it in the About Wireshark dialog box, on the tab License. FYI: (Most of) the Wireshark code is licensed under "GPL 2 or later." In short: The GPL says nothing about use, it (very clever) addresses distribution only. For more information on the GPL, look here: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html [1] Thanks, Jaap On Wed, 5 May 2010 12:20:58 +0530, Vijay Venkataraman wrote: Hi Group, What is the latest license with which wire shark ships. (LGPLV3 or GPLV3) There is a confusion on just using it. (Not modifying it) The org is concerned that it is dangerous to use wireshark with its current licensing terms. I am not convinced. Can anyone take time to clearly explain, so that i can take it back and explain about this. Regards, Vijay Venkataraman Links: ------ [1] http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html
