This statement is incorrect. I manage 2500 Symantec clients in version 8 and 9 and neither requires local admin to install, function, or update. In my opinion, to not want to spend the R&D dollars necessary to have the program achieve proper registry permissions in order to update without exposing a HUGE security risk is inexcusable for a security company. Nor did they announce this right up front. We trustfully bought the product before we found out and threw it out. They have clearly shown that they value the corporate bottom-line over the customer's safety....ergo as to A-V comparison, we start with ABN..."Anything But Norton". We wont easily forget how we got taken! IT dir Western Saw Inc
