In my opinion, Tor nowadays is the most simple and maybe used way to get a good level of anonimity. It allows you to be installed in few steps even if you're not a security expert. In addition there is also a tool called Vidalia that allows you to track geographically the used routes. But of course Tor, alone, does not make the anonymity.
