GardaĆ, the HSE and the Data Protection Commissioner are investigating the theft which occurred at Clare.s county hospital last week.

The HSE has launched it.s own investigation into the matter however it
is not yet known how much data relating to personal information about
patients was on the computer or whether the machine was encrypted. It is
thought that the computer was password protected and had been used for
recording patient.s blood pressure monitoring data.
