The Commonwealth Bank, Westpac and St George have cancelled a number of credit cards in response to a potential security breach. Both banks have confirmed to the ABC that some customers' cards have been cancelled due to fears they had been compromised and would be open to fraud. The Commonwealth Bank says it detected the potential security breach through its continuous monitoring process. CBA says a merchant terminal used by its customers was not secure. It says the terminal is owned by another bank which has been notified. CBA says MasterCard and Visa were also alerted to the potential problem immediately. ANZ and National Australia Bank say it is not one of their terminals. Westpac says there has been no security breach with its systems either, but would not comment on whether there was a problem at its subsidiary St George. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/05/27/3228694.htm
