Hi,

I have tried only 0.10 r2, r5 and r6. I can I try other versions tomorrow
if that helps you.

So it seems that you encounter this issue at least from Npcap 0.10 r2.
Could you please try more previous versions? Like 0.09, 0.08, 0.07.. I just
want to know whether I introduced this issue in some version. You can
actually use bi-section search to get the target version. Like 0.06, if not
faulty, then try 0.08, if faulty, then 0.07, if not faulty, then 0.07 r8
(the highest is r17). Narrow down the scope by removing one half options.

*And what do you mean by "can not get ip address but wifi seems to be
otherwise ok". Like "ipconfig" doesn't show an IPv4 Address. But you can
access the Internet through browser or any other applications?*

Wlan adapter is connected to SSID but unable to get ip address. No access
to internet. Please see attachment ipconfig.txt

Got it.

Cheers,
Yang

I am afraid 0.10 r6 did not fix my problem completely. After reboot,
same problem; I can not get ip address but wifi seems to be otherwise ok.

I tried to stop npcap service. No help.
I tried to sniffer wifi traffic with wireshark and.. suddenly I am
seeing dhcp ACKs and I have ip address again.

So I rebooted again --> Same problem. No ip address --> started
wireshark and started sniffing wifi traffic --> I get ip address again.

I attached DiagReport-20161004-190939.txt

I was able to run your script after I changed local machine
powershell permissions with regedit.

Hi again,

Great work Yang for solving that nping problem. I have another problem
tho which is similar to Mikes problem:

My wireless lan adapter is unable to get ip address from the dhcp
server after I install Nmap 7.30 and npcap 0.10 r2 with following setup:

Please install the latest Npcap 0.10 r5, and test it again. I fixed
some bugs and BSoDs along those versions.

I tried to run DiagReport.bat but I some policy is deniening
execution. I have not figured out how to fix this:

c:\Program Files\Npcap>DiagReport.bat
Set-ExecutionPolicy : Windows PowerShell updated your execution policy
successfully, but the setting is overridden by a policy defined at a more
spec
ific scope. Due to the override, your shell will retain its current
effective execution policy of "AllSigned". Type "Get-ExecutionPolicy -List"
to v
iew your execution policy settings. For more information, please see
"Get-Help Set-ExecutionPolicy."
At line:1 char:20
+ Set-ExecutionPolicy <<<< 0
    + CategoryInfo : PermissionDenied: (:)
[Set-ExecutionPolicy], SecurityException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : ExecutionPolicyOverride,Micros
oft.PowerShell.Commands.SetExecutionPolicyCommand

It seems that your Powershell has been configured somehow to stop this
script.

You can try right-click the DiagReport.ps1, then click "Run with
PowerShell" to see the result, You'd better use the built-in Administrator
account if a normal account doesn't work.

If issue still exists, then refer to here: https://blogs.msdn.micro

npcap install.log attached if it helps anything.

This log has no issue.
