Snort on Windows : system error 1067

I am trying to install snort on one of the XP machines that I have. This
is purely for testing purpose as of now but I intend to use snort as an
IDS. I have installed snort but when I try to autorun the service with the
parameters, it gives error.
I have checked the parameters and they are correct (config file path and
all). When I say, "net start snort" on the CLI it says..

" The snort service is starting
  The snort service could not be started.
  A system error has occured
  System error 1067 occured.
  The process terminated unexpectedly. "

I am not able to figure out the cause behind it. Could you please help me
in that ?
