Is there a reason why AMS (presumably the IXs)?

You may find other NL DCs cheaper but still close enough to AMS for your needs. For example, in Rotterdam there has 
been more investment in the port's industrial grid infra, which may get you a cheaper rate for power.

In any case, the rate you have been quoted seems high and you can definitely shop around.
