if I switch to IPv6 on my eyeball network, how much of my existing traffic will I have to CGNAT in some way to reach the IPv4-only network?
The short answer is: it depends. If your users rely heavily on X and GitHub, performance may be poor. But if they mostly use services like Netflix, YouTube, Facebook, ChatGPT or LinkedIn, things tend to look much better.
You can try it out yourself using a really simple tool I wrote a while ago: https://github.com/mdavids/ets I'm running it now and I'm currently at roughly 20% IPv4 vs ~80% IPv6. -- Marco 🐾 _______________________________________________NANOG mailing list https://lists.nanog.org/archives/list/nanog () lists nanog org/message/S6RPFCEHBCDPQ7BYHVH7Z2YKAGGGX4ZA/
