Here's what I don't understand: Gmail's spam filtering from everything I 
can tell is really good. Is the implication that they don't run their 
spam filters on posts to Google Groups? Wouldn't that hurt Google 
Groups' reputation for other spam filters? It seems like such an easy 
problem for them to solve.
