So you're suggesting you have to use an IP address that is v4 for stuff
that can't support a name?  I'm sure there's a way to automate that.  A
simple sed would solve that problem.  Or use equipment that supports DNS.

What are you going to do with IPv6?  Just not use DNS anywhere for those
devices?
